About Us

The Azerbaijan National Association Queensland (ANAQ) is a vibrant organisation dedicated to promoting Azerbaijani culture, heritage, and community in the beautiful state of Queensland, Australia. We strive to foster unity and strengthen the bonds among Azerbaijanis and friends of Azerbaijan living in Queensland while creating a platform for cultural exchange and understanding.

Our Mission: At ANAQ, our mission is to be a unifying force for the Azerbaijani community in Queensland, supporting and empowering individuals to celebrate their heritage and identity. We are committed to preserving and promoting Azerbaijani traditions, language, and values, while also embracing diversity and inclusivity within our community.

What We Do:

1. Cultural Events: ANAQ organises a variety of cultural events throughout the year, including music and dance performances, art exhibitions, film screenings, and literary evenings. These events provide a platform for talented Azerbaijani artists and performers to showcase their skills, while also introducing the broader community to the rich cultural heritage of Azerbaijan.
2. Community Engagement: We actively engage with the Azerbaijani community and organise social gatherings, picnics, and sports events. These activities create opportunities for networking, building friendships, and fostering a sense of belonging among our members. We also collaborate with other community organizations to promote cultural diversity and intercultural dialogue.
3. Language and Education: ANAQ recognises the importance of language in preserving cultural identity. We offer Azerbaijani language classes for both children and adults, enabling them to connect with their roots and communicate with their Azerbaijani-speaking relatives. Additionally, we provide educational resources and support initiatives that promote knowledge and understanding of Azerbaijani history, literature, and traditions.
